OUR HISTORY

The Yampa Valley, the Núu-agha-tʉvʉ-pʉ̱ Nuche/Ute Ancestral Lands, hosted its first PUBLIC PRIDE event in June 2021 on the courthouse lawn in downtown Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Though it was primarily rained out, South Routt, North Routt, Steamboat, Hayden and others showed up proudly reiterating to the community, “We’re Out Here!” Many volunteers came together to make 2021 Pride a success in so many ways! However it was with the brilliant guiding leadership and passion of Chelsie Holmes (she/her/hers) that it all really came together. So if you encounter her PLEASE thank her for making this happen in our community!
